Hopson Chemical Industry
Super glue activators, also known as super glue accelerators, are a type of product used to accelerate the adhesive curing or bonding process. It is applied to one surface before adhesive application and promotes faster adhesion by initiating the chemical reaction within the adhesive.
Hopson® offers two super glue activators, H712 and H715, tailored for distinct applications. H712, a solvent-based activator, effectively accelerates the curing process of cyanoacrylate adhesives, ensuring immediate adhesive contact.
This activator excels in challenging temperature and humidity conditions, making it ideal for porous materials. Meanwhile, H715, a CFC-free solvent-based surface activator, is specifically designed to enhance the curing speed of Hopson® cyanoacrylate adhesive, perfect for furniture assembly, especially MDF kits.
Comparing the bonding effect of super glue to bond wood with and without activators
Expanding on this, the Hopson® activators improve efficiency in bonding processes and enhance the adhesive bond’s overall strength and durability.
The H712 super glue activator, for instance, with its ability to perform well in varying environmental conditions, ensures reliable and strong bonds even in less-than-ideal settings. This is crucial in industries where consistent and robust adhesive bonds are essential, such as furniture manufacturing or automotive parts.
On the other hand, the H715 super glue activator spray, being CFC-free, aligns with environmental sustainability goals, making it a responsible choice for eco-conscious consumers and manufacturers.
Is Super Glue Activator just water?
Super glue accelerators are typically acetone-based, using acetone as the primary evaporating agent. This means that once applied, the acetone evaporates leaving an active accelerator ingredient on the surface. The glue dries up quickly and firmly on the intended surface.
Can you use an activator with regular super glue?
CA glue accelerators, or glue activators, are often paired with higher viscosity glues because thicker glues take longer to dry. H712/H715 Accelerator works best with our H105 CA glue and Hopson® super glue gel. It is compatible with all cyanoacrylate glues and can be used before or after glue application.
