Everything you need to know about glue dry in the tube

Glue is an intermediate that connects two materials, and it mostly appears in the form of a water agent. The common one is instant super glue (also known as “502 glue“). This universal instant bond glue is often used to bond metals, ceramics, plastics, rubber, leather, glass, wood, and other materials. It is widely used and loved by people.

There are many kinds of 502 superglue on the market with different prices, and quality can vary significantly. the glue provided by some suppliers is still in its shelf life, and when you go to use it, you find that the glue has dried in the bottle.

I don’t know if you have encountered this kind of problem before. Our glue dealers in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India have all reported experiencing this problem with glue they purchased from other suppliers in the past.

So why did the glue dry in the tube or bottle before it was opened?

I have summarized the following reasons:

1. The problem of the glue bottle (insufficient tightness)

502 superglue is generally filled in aluminum tubes, plastic bottles, or drums. If the seal of the glue bottle is not good, a small amount of atmosphere will enter. 502 super glue, contains a chemical that hardens once it hits water vapor in the atmosphere.

2. There is also the filling environment (humidity should not be higher than 70%).

3. Storage conditions. (It should not be higher than 25 ℃. If the store is exposed to direct sunlight, or over 40-50 ℃ for a long time, the shelf life of the glue will be greatly shortened, and even dried glue will appear)

How to determine bottle tightness and glue shelf life?

You can buy one of the ovens. test the glue filled in your bottle.

The oven temperature is set to 70 ℃, and an 8g glue bottle is placed; if the glue does not thicken for 7 days and 7 nights, it can be judged that there is no problem with the storage period of 10-12 months.
